Welcoming Jim Doremus, Interim Executive Director and CEO

The Takodah YMCA Board of Directors is excited to announce that Jim Doremus will be joining the organization as Interim Executive Director and CEO effective October 4^th, 2022. The board has developed a leadership transition plan that builds upon the success of our Y today and maintains excellence in executive leadership going forward. We are thrilled to work with Jim to assure a strong set of programs and properties continue for generations to come.

James S. (Jim) Doremus is an award-winning Y professional and retired CEO of the Concord Family YMCA. Jim is a graduate of New England College with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a Master of Science in Organizational Development. His decades of experience working with youth-centric programs and facilities improvement, along with nurturing deep ties to the communities in which he serves, will enable our Y to maintain a strong operational focus, increase overall fundraising, and begin to execute on our Master Plan for Camp Takodah’s campus in Richmond, New Hampshire.

The Y will also work with the YMCA Alliances of ME & NH/VT for additional support and resources as we perform a national search for a permanent CEO and explore how we will continue to deliver on our mission to “develop positive values that enrich the spirit, mind, and body by providing quality programming for all, with an emphasis on youth.”

Through the dedicated efforts of our volunteers and staff, the Takodah YMCA is committed to strengthening our emphasis on character and community to help individuals realize their best selves and make some of the greatest friendships of their lives.
