“Great things are not done by impulse, but by a series of small things brought together.” This quote by Vincent Van Gogh perfectly captures our facility improvement efforts at Camp Takodah this year. Our property and program teams focused on a series of purposeful improvements—both big and small—to show caregivers, alumni, and our community that Takodah is committed to enhancing the camper experience and being here for generations to come.
Each improvement—whether big or small—was made with one purpose in mind: to enrich the experience of every camper who calls Takodah home.

One of the most exciting additions is our brand-new Ceramic Studio in North Village, made possible by the generous support of a third-generation Camp Takodah family. This creative space is already inspiring campers to explore new skills, find joy in the arts, and take-home memories that will last a lifetime.
In South Village, we also gave some of our beloved cabins a fresh look. Cabins 17 and 21 underwent complete interior renovations, and the “Twins” in South Village received a new coat of paint, concluding this decade-long renovation project.
Our commitment to honoring the people who shaped Camp was realized in the transformation of the old maintenance shop. This space is now Whitcomb Lodge, named in honor of the early property work performed by the Whitcomb family, which provided comfortable seasonal housing and carried forward a legacy of care for our facilities.

Even the finishing touches matter. Volunteers helped us with new flower plantings and expanded storage for program equipment. These may seem like small changes, but they have already made camp feel more welcoming and helped campers easily access equipment for their activities.
These projects are more than facility updates—they are investments in community, the camper experience, and the attention that shows camp will be here for generations to come. This incredible progress was only made possible through the generosity of our donors and volunteers, the dedication of our staff, and the vision of our board. We are deeply grateful to every person who helped make these improvements possible. Because of you, our campers have an even stronger, more inspiring place to grow, learn, and thrive.
In Friendship,
Chris
