It is with great pleasure that we introduce our newest Board Chair of the Takodah YMCA. Rob Therrien has been serving as a volunteer and board member for the past decade. His journey with the Takodah YMCA started when he participated in our Heritage Travel program as a child — and he continues to serve because of the transformative experiences his children had when they attended our Heritage Travel programs. “Not everyone in our region has the chance to travel, much less see the history they learn in school come to life,” says Rob. “Heritage Travel helped me develop a love of travel, and it’s important to me that our programs continue to give kids a chance to see the world beyond their communities.”
Rob is currently the President of the Melanson Company, commercial and residential roofers with offices in New Hampshire and Vermont. He has a long history of volunteerism, serving as part of the Rotary Club, many national roofing organizations, the Historical Society of Cheshire County, the Cheshire Health Foundation, and the Keene Downtown Housing Corporation. We are excited for Rob to lead us as we undertake our master plan, improve how we serve youth, and look toward our next century.
We are so grateful to Rob’s wife of 32 years, Lianne “The Saint,” for sharing him with us. She truly is the rock of their family, keeping all the wheels spinning in the lives of their five kids and ten grandkids. There is nothing Rob and Lianne won’t do for family and friends, of which the Takodah YMCA is fortunate to be part of.
So, raise a glass, and help us welcome Rob Therrien, the 29th Board Chair of the Takodah YMCA.
