News from the Workbench – Fall 17

Ryan Reed — November 1, 2017

The last campers and groups have left camp, most of the leaves have fallen, and our Maintenance Team has shuttered camp for the winter.

While Takodah feels lonely without the bustling of campers, it’s an important time for us to improve our facilities. Keith and his sidekicks, George and John, certainly have their hands full with projects for this school year:

  • Build a multi-purpose sports court at North Camp
  • Re-roof both TPAC and Hobby Nook
  • Renovate the Moose Lodge bathroom
  • Build a new multi-person High Ropes Course element
  • Repair the Riflery Range shelter
  • Install new benches at the Chapel
  • Renovate the Health Lodge
  • Install new flooring in the Buffalo and North Camp Twins
  • Install new benches at The Point
  • Purchase new sail boats
  • Build more picnic tables
  • And maybe take on some surprises!

Of course, all that doesn’t even take into account snow removal and all the other work that comes with a New Hampshire winter!

If you’re interested in supporting any of these projects, please contact Artie Lang, Executive Director, at 603-352-0447 or by email.
