At YMCA Camp Takodah, we’re committed to making camp accessible for every child. Takodah’s Tiered Pricing model offers families the flexibility to choose a price that best fits their financial situation, without sacrificing the quality of the camp experience. We know that you may have questions about how this model works, and we’re here to help! Below, you’ll find answers to some of the most common questions about our Tiered Pricing system. If you have any additional questions, don’t hesitate to contact us directly (603-352-0447 or info@takodahymca.org)—we’re here to support you every step of the way.
Tiered pricing is a structure where families can choose from different tuition rates based on their financial situation. This ensures camp remains affordable for all income levels and life situations.
Tier 1 is the cost of camp and we ask that if you’re able to pay this amount that you do so. Recognizing that all families have different situations, however, we encourage you to choose the tier that best fits your financial ability.
No, all children will have the same camp experience regardless of the tier selected.
Tier 1 is the full cost, Tier 2 is partially subsidized, and Tier 3 is more heavily subsidized. Those needing further financial support can also select Tier 4 and submit a Financial Aid application.
Yes, you can. When registering, you will have the option to choose a different tier for each child.
No, previous discounts are no longer available as we transition to a Tiered Pricing model. By eliminating discounts, we can streamline the registration process and ensure that the cost of camp remains transparent and fair for all families.
We’ve introduced Tiered Pricing to ensure camp remains accessible for as many families as possible, despite the rising cost to run camp. This approach allows us to provide affordable options for all.
Families have until May 31st to finalize their tier selection. If your circumstances change after this date, please contact us directly to discuss options.
Families can select Tier 4 and apply for Camp Takodah’s Financial Assistance Program for additional support beyond the subsidized rates.
Families choose their tier independently and confidentially. Only Tier 4 requires financial details to be disclosed to camp administration.
Many of our peer YMCA camps in the Northeast have adopted similar pricing models in effort to meet families where they are and keep camp affordable while maintaining strong programs.
Families will select their preferred tier during the registration process. For families who have already pre-registered at camp check out, more details will be provided in November on how to choose your tier.
All children receive the same high-quality camp experience, regardless of the tier chosen.
