Assistant Camp Director

This opportunity in leadership, growth, and community will allow you to play a key role in making our camp the BEST place for campers to learn, grow, and make lifelong memories.
About the Position
As the Assistant Camp Director, you’ll work alongside the Camping Services Director to bring our camp programs to life. You’ll help design, deliver, and evaluate high-quality, safe, and exciting activities that meet the needs of our campers. You’ll also manage everything from our summer programs to school-year rentals and retreats. That means you’ll have a hand in everything from training staff to planning activities, ensuring the camp runs smoothly, and even hiring the next batch of incredible summer staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver safe, fun, and engaging camp programs that cater to the needs of our campers.
- Collaborate with staff to create a welcoming, inclusive, and energetic camp environment
- Manage school-year programs, including booking and coordinating rentals/retreats, while keeping everything on track with contracts and logistics
- Help recruit, hire, train, and manage both seasonal and year-round staff
- Ensure the best safety and risk management practices are in place, and be ready to jump into action when needed
- Foster a positive, welcoming community with staff, campers, and parents/caregivers
What Are We Looking For?
- Leadership Experience: At least 3 years of experience in a camp or similar leadership role.
- Communication Skills: You’re practiced at clearly communicating, whether it’s with campers, staff, or parents.
- Computer Savvy: Comfortable with email, word processing, data management, and the basics of internet software.
- A Passion for Kids: You get energy from working with young people and can create a fun and supportive environment for them to thrive.
- Driver’s License: We need someone who can safely drive a variety of vehicles to get from place to place.
- Physical Stamina: You’re not afraid to roll up your sleeves and help out, whether lifting equipment, standing for long hours, or running around camp all day.

Assistant Camp Director Job Description
Salary Range: $55,000-$60,000 per year
