Letter from the President – Takodah of the Future

Working to ensure Takodah continues to provide the best experiences possible to our campers, we are excited to announce the construction of a NEW twins (bathhouse) for the Crowninshield Division (formerly Monadnock Division). Built in the same location as the previous twins, the Crownie Twins will closely resemble the new Kingfisher twins, which campers, parents, and staff all rave about!

Construction of the new Kingfisher Twins.

Why now?

Those who came before us built Takodah to last. And it did. As we celebrated our 100th anniversary in 2016, we knew it was up to us to make sure Takodah lasted for another 100 years.

We engaged Milone & MacBroom, Inc. to prepare a Master Plan to support Takodah’s daily activities and outdoor programming with an eye toward future camp trends while always being cognizant of the camp’s rich history, culture, community, and rustic feel.

The plan is meant to provide a guide for capital improvements with goals that complement the mission of the Takodah YMCA and enhance the unique setting and culture of Camp Takodah.

Read the Master Plan and then see the camp rendering below.

While we eventually plan to launch a capital campaign to fund these critical improvements at Takodah, we are chipping away at the plan now — and everyone who has used the Crownie Twins knows just how much it needed a refresh.

If you are interested in getting involved in the master plan as a donor or fundraiser, please contact Artie Lang, Executive Director, at 603-352-0447 or by email.

Thanks for your support,

Rob Therrien
