Sophie’s Story

Sophie, CT 8 and LIT ‘23, started attending Takodah after hearing about it from legendary Camp Registrar Martie Fisher. “I always leave Takodah better than I show up,” says Sophie. “I’m a Takodian through and through.”

Max’s Story

Max, CT 6 and LIT ‘23, followed in the footsteps of his older Takodah siblings. “Camp made me a better and truer person,” says Max. “If everyone went to a place like Camp Takodah, the world would be a better place.”

Stories like these are why we do what we do. Like Sophie and Max, hundreds of campers grow stronger at Takodah. They learn responsibility, resilience from mastering new skills, and occasionally, failing at an activity but learning to try again – qualities important to all children for successful and fulfilling lives.

But many kids will miss these transformative experiences without your help.

Requests for financial assistance have soared despite our commitment to keeping camp tuition as affordable as possible. This year alone, we gave $165K+ to support 167 campers who could not attend camp without financial assistance. Your support is vital to funding scholarships that ensure no one is turned away from Takodah because of financial barriers.
